The Lessom

In the short story The Lesson, the author Toni Cade Bambara explains the past life-time of main character Sylvia, who was a little girl that lived in a pitiable town along with her family. She mentions how a finalize word of children (including Sylvia) goes on a field trip to a romance store called F.O.A Schwarz on Fifth Avenue with their teacher, where they nominate a glimpse of a life they didnt agnise about. pretermit Moore (teacher) was the only one that actually went to college and got a grad from where they lived; her excogitate was to be in charge of the young childrens education. Bambara illustrates both very different settings through strong imagination and actions of the characters that elucidates the themes. She utilizes a change in the setting to help us espouse the theme of how money is spread unequally passim the countries and how the children erudite the value of money. Harlem is a town located jointure of impudently York; its where the chil dren of The Lesson were raised. This town was poor and unsanitary with mountain who were non highly educated, ignorant and rude. In the text (pg.1) Bambara mentions we detest her in addition, dislike the way we did the winos who cluttered up the parks and roiled on our handball walls and stank up our vestibules and stairs so you couldnt hallway prevail hide-and-seek without a goddamn gas mask.
